Beyond a doubt, this was the most highly anticipated course for the NZ visit.
The folklore about a once in a lifetime opportunity to play as an unaccompanied visitor only added to mystique.
My travel/golf buddy stayed onsite and played twice but I was lucky enough to be extended an invite by the GM, Matt Guzik to play while staying at Te Arai.
Tom Doak did not disappoint and very justifiably has such a new course (opened in 2015) inside the Top 30 in the Golf.com rankings.
The day was perfect and I look forward to visiting again as a member’s invite. Enjoy the gallery!
