Titirangi Golf Club

Dr. Alister MacKenzie's only NZ design

Titirangi GC hosted the 2022 MacKenzie Gathering in November and this was the primary reason for visiting New Zealand.

Given the tournament setting, I did not carry a camera and all photos bar a handful of those shared by Director of Golf, Doug White are taken using my Samsung Galaxy S21.

Redesigned in 1927 by the Good Doctor, the course was thoroughly enjoyable and demanding. It played quite long with a typical variety of long and short par 4s. The par 3s were all memorable and yielded no easy pars.

As expected, the green complexes and bunkering were key features. Recent works by Cunnin’ Golf have faithfully restored much of MacKenzie’s original design work which was found and is proudly displayed in the clubhouse.
