ParaParaumu
Designed by the legendary Alex Russell in 1949. Russell was a one time associate of Dr Alister MacKenzie and Paraparaumu was highly recommended to me by everyone I spoke with.
The welcome from members, staff and the ubiquitous GM, Leo Barber was incredible. I was lucky on my visit that the course opened.
What a treat it is, the green complexes were subtle in places but punishing and MacKenzie’s influence on Russell is very clear.
A very memorable course which I hope to return to in better weather.
