My name is Jason and I’m a golf addict based in Cork, Ireland. I’m currently playing off 1.

In 2016, my mum, Julianne was tragically diagnosed with aggressive and advanced colorectal cancer. The one year survival rate was bleak – which was very scary as Mum had just turned 57. Fast forward 6 years and the cancer is currently non-active (after 3 surgeries and chemotherapy).

Witnessing Mum’s battle with cancer was eye opening for us both and now we want to turn our hand to help others.

In 2022, I took part in my first MacKenzie Gathering as a member of Cork Golf Club’s team.

The trip to New Zealand and Australia marked the first leg of my travels in retracing Dr Alister MacKenzie’s footsteps. While researching The Good Doctor, I will photograph the adventures which will culminate in a book about Alister MacKenzie. We have decided that the majority of proceeds from the book, associated photography and artwork will go to charities close to our hearts (see more below).

Additionally, I have decided to add in some random acts along the way to raise funds for charity which can have an immediate effect. On November 4th 2022, I did an 18,500 ft skydive in aid of the Mercy University Hospital Foundation’s Cancer Appeal – more here. We are inviting friends to donate along with us using the iDonate platform so your funds get directly to source.

Thank you all,

After holing out for my first albatross on the Par 5, 2nd in Cork Golf Club in the Spion Cup (Back Tees) on the 19th June 2022.
